GALLERIES

I know I’ve been terrible about keeping this blog up to date. There are so many things I want to tell you guys – photos from weddings, stories from adventures, and a few lessons learned along the way.

But first? First I wanted to say thank you.

When I shared the photos of Charlie on my Facebook page a couple weeks ago I didn’t think anyone would see them – which was a shame because it’s such a beautiful story. And then a few people shared them. And then a few more. And the next thing I knew I was getting calls from the likes of the Washington Post, Buzzfeed, and CNN.

To say the last week has been a whirlwind would be a dramatic understatement. My phone has been ringing off the hook and my inbox has been overflowing. It’s been a wild ride.

But none of this is about me. It’s about you – the way that you all were touched by this story. The way that you shared photos of your beloved animals in the comments of Facebook posts. The thousands of times you shared my photos and the articles that have come along with them. The millions – yes, MILLIONS – if you who were touched by it.

There’s a lot of really bad stuff in the world these days. A nasty political cycle, mass shootings and terrorist attacks happening every week, loads of hatred being spewed from every corner of the internet. It’s a tough world out there but the fact that this sad but sweet story made it so big with so many other things swirling around? It gives me a whole lot of faith in humanity.

Charlie’s family and I have been following the buzz surrounding this closely. Two weeks ago we thought it was cool that the photos on my Facebook page had been shared 30 or 40 times. We had NO IDEA what we were in for.

Your support and your kind words have meant the world to a family that is now dealing with the loss of a beloved pet. Charlie was an amazing dog and going out with the whole world watching and sending their love is a hell of a way to end a pretty incredible life.

I feel like I should say something but this whole thing has literally left me speechless. So all I can say is thank you.

There are literally hundreds of articles out there now about this. These are a few of my favorites:

    The Knot

    People

    Washington Post

    Buzzfeed

P.S. If you have contacted me and I haven’t gotten back to you, please shoot me another message. I have been doing my best to keep up with everything but, man, it’s been nuts!
