Malynda + Tony’s Breckenridge Elopement

Malynda and Tony got engaged at Keystone a while back and decided to forgo the fuss and expense of a big wedding back home in Nebraska and plan a Colorado destination elopement instead.

Like a lot of my couples, they came to me not really knowing exactly where they wanted to elope. They had some ideas but things were mostly up in the air. After getting to know them and what they were looking for a little better I decided to take them to one of my favorite little secret spots up in the mountains for their self-solemnizing ceremony.

My assistant (aka Cash the dog) and I went up to the mountains super early that day to check the condition of the road (I didn’t know if it would still be closed due to snow) and do a little bit of scouting for another one of my couples. I was relieved to find that we could get to most of the spots we wanted to get to and to see that it was a beautiful day up in the mountains. Cash and I found a few locations for them and then spent a few hours just hanging out – soaking up the sunshine and enjoying spring at 12,000 feet. It was glorious!

When I finally met up with Malynda and Tony we hit it off right away. They were super laid-back and just wanted to have a stress free day for their wedding.

They did their final wedding prep at the location, did a first look (I love when couples do first looks at elopements!), and then said their vows next to a waterfall before we went off to explore. It was a little bit chilly that day but Malynda totally rocked it! Her shawl (which her mom made for her … awww!) was the perfect touch for a chilly spring elopement in the mountains.

I was sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the evening but was so happy to have met them and captured these photos of their day. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
